I WON THE SIR PETER LEADERSHIP AWARD! AND BY THESE 4 THINGS AND OTHER BUT THESE 4!

INTEGRITY:
I show integrity by treating people how i would like to be treated.I help my principle john by doing the little kids cubbyholes.I help my teachers by getting the things they need from  the photo copier and sometimes handing out books + others. And I always make sure that everyone gets a turn.

DETERMINATION AND THE WILL TO SUCCEED:
So on the rugby field i always strive to do my best and motivate and encourage others to do they best.I always strive to get in the 90's for basic facts everyday. And reading a little bit bigger books.

BE A GOOD TEAM BUILDER,LEADER AND MEMBER:
When i go off in groups at school, i like to share my ideas with everyone as well as listen to others ideas and we try to workout problems together. Sometimes i like to take charge and lead with my ideas and like others to help. Sometimes its important to be a good team member and try and work together with everyones ideas.

BE HARD WORKING AND KNOW HOW TO HAVE FUN.
During kiwisport we play really hard and really tired but it's so much fun at the same time.
Also in class if we work hard at our school work we sometimes get a game reward like playing ghost ball or keorahi.

I WON A AWARD FOR WRITING ABOUT MY NANA!

My Nana King

When my lovely super nana comes over to our house she takes us to the movies and buys us lollies from PaknSave like pineapple lumps.

She bakes us pancakes for MORNING TEA AND LUNCH TIME!!!!!!!! Every time we come back with nana, mum sees us with ice creams in our hands. She always buys us white bread and mum doesn’t.

When we stay with her we don’t want to come home. We want her to move closer to us. We love our nana.

Maori creation

The maori creation story

In the beginning there was a mother island called papatuanuku and sky father called ranginui. one day they fell in deep love.one year later they had children. when the children were adults they didn’t want darkness for the rest of their lives so they came up with a plan.tanemahuta lay on his back and pushed on his father.

Then tawhirimatea got an axe that he made.then he gave tu god of war and men the axe to chop rangi and papa’s arm’s off.

Then they were ready. tane pushed and pushed until they moved more and more until they were almost split apart.

Then tu struck out at his parent’s arm’s. After striking at his parents arm’s. ranginui cried with tears papa did the same.

Then the brothers could see the beauty of their mother.

MY SPEECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS MY SPEECH:I WILL WALK IN TO MY FAMILYS FOOT STEPS!!!!

Ehara taku toa

i te toa takitahi engari

he toa takitini!

This means: my strength is not that of one person but

of thousands - parents, grandparents and ancestors.
I’m here to tell you why I will follow in my families footsteps.
Traditions are customs or beliefs that are passed on from generation to generation. My family traditions teach me about our family values and make me feel connected to my whanau. Every April our family goes to Mangawhai to meet up with other families to spend time together, it is a fun time we all look forward to every year. We also spend a lot of time at my Uncle Toby’s. My cousins, aunties, uncles and grandparents always get together there. We’re making traditions happen all the time. I will follow the traditions of my family because they are important to me!

Passing on knowledge, history and experiences from generation to generation is important. If my grandad Terry was here, I know that he would love me and be proud because my Nana King always talks about him. She tells me all the things that he liked and used to talk about. He loved rugby and league, my Mum, her brother and sister. He was kind and funny. When Nana King talks about my grandad, I want to be a kind person like he was and I will follow in his footsteps.
My Great grandad was a policeman and I was lucky to know him and share time and stories with him. He attended the Tangiwai disaster on Christmas Eve 1953, when a train plunged into the flooded river, killing 151 people, he spent many days there helping people get back to their loved ones.
Sharing stories about my family even if they are not here anymore make me feel like I’m close to them and I can learn from their life. My dream is to be a policeman just like my great grandfather. To follow in his footsteps I will have to work hard at school and be fit and healthy so I can help people in our community just like my grandad did. I will make me family proud of me like they are of him.
Following in your family's footsteps is important and a big responsibility which i’m looking forward to doing as I get older.

MATARIKI

Once a upon a time there a boy named Mitai. he had magic powers to turn into any maori bird. he had six fine brothers. They were the most handsome men in the village.

One day Mitai and his brothers were out hunting for food. then they caught a glimpse of the most beautiful wahine they had ever seen. then the brothers fell in love. the wahine fell in love too. the brothers took them back to the village. mitai said’’the women aren’t allowed in the village’’. the brothers didn’t listen.

one morning mitai hid behind a tree outside his brothers house.
Then he saw 7 fantails on the branch of a tree. the fantails turned into wahine. they said’’let’s stave our husbands to death’’. Then mitai ran to his brothers. ’’my brothers you used to be strong handsome men, now look at yourselves, you're just skin and bones’.’ mitai said. the brothers looked at each other.they got a magic net to catch the wahine. one morning mitais brothers waited until their wives came out of their house’s. the brothers lept out and trapped their wives. then the brothers took them down to the beach where mitai was waiting. mitai turned into a god wit, then flow into the sky.
miitai says the wahine can appear every 6th of june as the stars of Matariki.
